The Santan Freeway has a strong, upward-trending traffic volume and experiences a heavy rush-hour and an ever-present steady stream of traffic day and night.

Demographic Highlights

The East Valley is one of the most dynamic regions in the country with record growth since the 1970's. Chandler, Gilbert and Mesa have all been among the top three fastest-growing communities in the country. Rapid population growth is following the footprint of the Santan Freeway. Approximately 1.25 million people currently live in the East Valley.
